Below are some images from a Refashioned denim workshop held at Rathcoyle National School, Co Wicklow in June 2022. The 4th, 5th & 6th Grade students took part, and they were all amazingly creative! The students all brought a pair of old jeans and turned them into cool, vintage-style frayed shorts. We talked about the impact of the denim production on water consumption, how upcycling and re-wearing clothes can help the planet, and we chatted about where our clothes are made. The students even created weird and wonderful fashion accessories from the leftover pieces of denim! The workshop was a great success! Thanks so much to the team at Rathcoyle National School for having me, I look forward to visiting again next year!
